Hi and welcome to my site!

My name is Jorge Escobar and I’m a blogger, writer and technologist who fell in love with computers the first time I saw the Texas Instruments TI-994A. I have worked for many companies since then.

Most recently I’ve been ExpoTV’s Web Technology Director, a user-generated video product review site, where along with a team of awesome developers, created a custom built media management system that manages a library of more than 300,000 user generated videos using open source software, overseeing everything from video storage, scalability, caching and content delivery.

Previously, I worked as Product Manager for Yahoo! North Latin America, coordinating the efforts of Content, Marketing, Sales and Engineering for Yahoo! En Español and Yahoo! Mexico.

Before Yahoo!, I served as Web CTO for Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation Interactive (now Univision Radio) doing the software development, project management and network infrastructure for their Hispanic local and radio station portal, Netmio.com.

I have also dabbled with Image and 3D Graphic design. working as the image director for Telesistema TV Network in Ecuador and developing interactive multimedia applications at the Caracas Museum of Natural History.
